Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and couldn't find any fault with the hotel. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much for them. Got to give Kerry a special mention as she went over and above to help us out. Breakfast was good and didn't take long once ordered. Not much in the locality but there is a regular bus service very close by to take you into the city in about 20 minutes. I would definitely stay there again without hesitation. Once again big thanks to Kerry and Staff.
Good property overall. I wasn't terribly impressed with the on-site restaurant (it's okay). Very good value hotel. The shower was terrific (high water pressure, nice shower head). Not much in the neighborhood, but it's next to a couple bus stops.
We had a lovely stay. The hotel was perfectly situated for our needs and reasonably priced. We received excellent service and the staff were especially accommodating when we met up with other family members in the dining room and lounge.
Stayed for three nights with my fiancé during our trip to Edinburgh. The price was cheaper than Premier Inns in central Edinburgh, and it was worth the saving. Getting the bus into Edinburgh was easy, they stop pretty much outside the hotel, are frequent and run past 11pm. Actually liked the quieter location and we did the Arthur's Seat hike straight from the hotel.
Standard Premier Inn rooms, we had room 218 which was really clean, spacious and cosy. We had a bathtub in the bathroom. It was great to return to after a rainy day exploring Edinburgh.
Wonderful staff, Sam in particular was lovely! We'd stay here again when we return to Edinburgh.
My room had bed bugs and the issue was not sorted when I reported it.
Half-way through my stay I noticed that I had been bitten in the night and my bedding was stained with bed bug excrement. My window could not open so the insects came from within the room. I will spare you the photographs of my back with sudoku rows of bed bug bites: they are unequivocal and developed further in the days following my stay (as is the lifecycle of bed bug bites.)
When I reported all this to reception — long before I was due to check-out — they told me that they could not move me to a different room, they could not refund me for the remaining nights so I could stay elsewhere, and they could not escalate the issue themselves.
The staff were lovely and sympathetic to my marks, the evidence of bed bugs on my bedding and they tried to repair my window (so I could sleep in more tolerable temperature and cover more skin) to no avail.
I emailed Whitbread, as instructed, to complain. Despite the promise of a reply within 10 days, the time has passed and I am yet to hear back.
I was never a believer in the slogan; I did not expect everything to be premier, but I have spent the considerable price for fumigating all my clothes, bags and possessions before bringing them into my home. Even at checkout, the lovely receptionist insisted that my bags be placed in a separate cupboard from the other stored luggage. It was an understandable choice because no one wants bed bugs because bed bugs bite people. I don’t run a hotel and I don’t like giving unsolicited feedback, but preventing bed bugs (or taking a single piece of action upon the discovery of bed bugs) ought to be the bare minimum of an establishment which takes responsibility for the beds people sleep on. I advise you avoid Premier Inn Edinburgh East or any of its cousins.
We have difficulty with stairs, and we were placed in the corridor with steps in the middle. I will use the hotel again now I know about the accessible rooms. I wasn't keen on food from the beefeater on site, for breakfast or dinner
Really quiet in the hotel, great night sleep as usual. Reception staff very friendly and helpful when requesting anything. Marked service as 4 stars as we waited 40 mins for cooked breakfast on day 2, restaurant was very quiet so not sure what delay was (they probably forgot as it arrived fairly promptly when we asked where it was)
Great location, right next to bus stop and very frequent bus service into the city. Also a pleasant walk to the old town via Holyrood Park (2.5 miles)
Plenty of free parking at the hotel.
Rooms clean enough and comfortable shower needed a good clean , mould around glass and cuck chair has been used well . The included dinner was shocking 2 courses (small portions) and a drink took 2 hours to turn around.
The girls at breakfast however was fantastic and didn’t stop working
